Virtual Power Plant (VPP) in North Ameria with Solis & Derapi

New Partnership Expands Virtual Power Plant Capabilities
A new collaboration between Solis and energy platform Derapi is bringing expanded virtual power plant (VPP) access to energy storage customers across North America.

The new initiative allows both residential and commercial battery storage owners to participate in utility and market-based VPP programs through various demand response providers.
The partnership comes as Solis, which recently launched new string inverter products in North American markets, aims to expand its presence in the distributed energy sector.
According to Derapi's founder and president Thomas Lee, the integration enables immediate program compatibility for Solis products without additional technical requirements.
Derapi's platform serves as a bridge between distributed energy devices and management systems that help users optimize and monetize their energy resources.
VPPs function by digitally combining various distributed energy resources (DERs), including battery storage systems, electric vehicle chargers, and smart appliances. This technology offers an alternative to traditional peaker plants by providing additional grid capacity during high-demand periods while potentially reducing costs for consumers.
The concept has gained support from energy industry leaders and has shown promising results in grid management and renewable energy integration.
